Mailbox Monday #60

Mailbox Monday was originally hosted by The Printed Page but now it is on tour each month. For the month of January it will be hosted by Rose City Reader.

This week I got two books in the mail - one for review and one just for me:

From PaperBackSwap I recieved Time and Chanceby Sharon Kay Penman. This is the sequel to When Christ and His Saints Slept which I acquired toward the end of last year. It is the second book in her Henry II trilogy.

For review I received The Tudor Secret by C. W. Gortner from MacMillan Publishing. I can't wait to be able to jump into this one! Here is the blurb:

"Summer, 1553: Brendan Prescott, an orphan reared in the household of the powerful Dudley family, is brought to court, where he finds himself sent on an illicit mission to King Edward VI’s brilliant, enigmatic sister, Princess Elizabeth.

But soon Brendan is compelled to work as a double agent by Elizabeth’s protector, William Cecil—who promises in exchange to help him unravel the secret of his own mysterious past.

A dark plot swirls around Elizabeth's quest to unravel the truth about the ominous disappearance of her seriously ill brother, King Edward VI. With only a bold stable boy and audacious lady-in-waiting at his side, Brendan plunges into a ruthless gambit of half-truths, lies, and murder.

Filled with the intrigue and pageantry of Tudor England, The Tudor Secret brings this world to life from a new perspective, telling the story of a spy who becomes the protector of England's future queen."

Two things didn't arrive in my mailbox - I bought them in-store at Barnes and Noble - but I wanted to share anyway...

I got Taliesin by Stephen R. Lawhead. It is the first in his 5 book series of The Pendragon Cycle about the tale of Arthur. My boyfriend and I are currently reading Hood, the first in his series about Robin Hood and we are loving it, so I can't wait to get to this one.
I also picked up Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote based on the recommendation of Audra. I loved the movie and am intrigued by the book!
Did your mailbox give you any love this week?
