The Dust Bowl of the 1930's was a terrible economic and natural disaster in the United States. Crops were destroyed, people died, families migrated west. This period in history has always intrigued me - to learn more about the lives of the people who had to suffer through this. I haven't been able to find too many books about this period but I thought I would share a few with you here. I have a review of
Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse coming up later this week.

Oooh, will have to think back to what I've read and see if anything covers this period. Looking forward to your review!
ReplyDeleteHeather, I just sent you an email about a nonfiction book.

Audra - I really need to read Grapes of Wrath - my boyfriend has read it and I know some about it, but haven't read it.
ReplyDeleteChelsea - thanks! I am going to add it to the post list!
