Mailbox Monday #47

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.

This week I received one book - but it is quite a book.

I received Helen Hollick's book The Forever Queen. I haven't had the chance yet to read any of her books, but this one caught my eye. Sourcebooks is releasing this book in November and it will be part of their Fall Book Club.

I had completely forgotten about this book coming and was shocked when it showed up - and that it is huge!

Did you get anything great this week?

  1. I read this last year (The Hollow Crown edition). I thought it was really good.

  2. I read Hollick's The Kingmaking and thought it was excellent. I really need to read the rest of her books in that series. I just read the summary for The Forever Queen and it sounds superb. Although,it is interesting that this book is being re-released under a new name. I don't care much for that, but I do like this cover better than that which is on A Hollow Crown. Anyway, If The Kingmaking is any indication then I think you are going to love The Forever Queen. I look forward to reading your thoughts on the book.

  3. I passed on the reading club but I am looking forward to your thoughts. I still need to read something from her as well & didn't want to start with that one. I hope you enjoy it!

  4. Robinbird - I'm glad to hear that you liked it - incentive!

Ibeeeg - I have one of her books on my shelf and I hope I do indeed enjoy this one too. I also hate it when they re-release a book under a new title. Not only does it confuse the buyer but what was wrong the first time around?

Marie - I passed on the first reading club and this one sounded more to my liking - we'll see!
