*UPDATE*

I have updated my review and giveaway policies page (now just titled Policies above). If you are entering a giveaway, please read and abide by the applicable policy.

I am no longer an Amazon Associate. I am currently working on updating my posts with links to various locations to buy books. One of the links I am including is to RJ Julia - this is my favorite local independent book store. You can shop their store online and have access to pretty much anything you are looking for. I do not have any affiliation with any of these sites - just looking to support my local indie book store.

Anyone looking for a new feed reader? My recommendation is Bloglovin'. I made the switch and love the layout, plus there is now an app for my phone. If you use Bloglovin' or have made the switch to another feed reader, please make sure you are following me on it so you miss none of the content here!

Here is a quick sticky link to my Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge and Read-a-Thon.

Going to See Philippa Gregory - Not!

Well this morning is quite depressing.  I'm not going to see Philippa Gregory today after all because the massive snowstorm headed right toward me doesn't understand it needs to hold off until tomorrow so that I can go see her!  Sadly, the event has been cancelled.  Hopefully it will be rescheduled and I will still be able to go.  I didn't really want to drive in the snow, but I did want to see my mom and go to the event.  Oh well - hunkering down here for the potential 8-12 inches of October snow!

  2. Carolyn - I think it would have been an awesome event especially because she doesn't come around here too often. However I did secure a signed copy so it wasn't a total loss.

  3. Unbelievable -- snow?! So sorry the event had to be cancelled, but hopefully it will be rescheduled soon. (Down here, we're just so happy that we woke up to cool temps in the 60's!! Woohoo!)

Also, looking forward to seeing what you think of The Bronze Horseman -- I felt like I was the only one who hadn't read the trilogy yet, but I had a hard time getting past the first few chapters. I've heard it takes a while to pick up and then - bam-- it's great!

  4. I'm so sorry it was cancelled! Hopefully they will reschedule and you will still get to meet her. And hey, with that much snow, maybe you'll just get to curl up with a nice cup of hot chocolate and read for hours!

  5. Aww, I would be way disappointed too (I'm actually in the middle of the Cousins War series right now).

  6. Joanne - I'm hoping it will be rescheduled at some point. As for the Bronze Horseman - I am about a third of the way through it and I am very much enjoying it. The first couple chapters are a little slow and I found (and still do sometimes) Tatiana to be very frustrating. But it gets better!

Siobian - I somehow did absolutely nothing during the snowstorm - but having today off I am going to get some reading done!

    Carole Rae - I agree!
