We can all say that you should never judge a book by its cover, but I guarantee that we all have done so at least once! Cover Crush is designed to feature some of those covers that have caught the eye as a standout on the bookshelf.
The colors of this cover are beautiful: blues, golds, and whites. They are in the woman’s dress, the room decorations, and also way in the background the scenery is in the same tones. Even the color of the title and author’s name are in those tones. Can’t wait to read this one!
What are your thoughts on this cover?
I wonder what my friends are crushing on this week? Let’s check it out: (To update after they go live)
I have this on my shelf to read. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is, of course, completely wrong for the period--it looks like a cheap Hollywood leftover from Ivanhoe. The hairstyle is also wrong.
ReplyDeleteNo plate glass windows, either, in the Hermitage or the Winter Palace.
All in all, I think the cover is amazingly amateurish. I wouldn't touch this book because of the awful, historically inaccurate cover. Sorry to be negative, but sometimes it's definitely called for.
I never have any concept of historically accurate clothing for any period or location, for me it's all about does it look pretty and catch the eye. This one does both. However, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion and I can understand how it being inaccurate could be an issue.

I cherished this e book as it defined the exceptional and worst days of the Romanovs. I knew little about this girl without her sister used to be married to King Edward the seventh. This story is informed in the first man or woman which makes it very actual and touching. For anybody that likes records like I do this is a actual jewel. It has defined the household connections at that duration in history. It additionally places a human face to the black and white pix we comprehend them by.
