Cover Crush: Where the River Parts

We can all say that you should never judge a book by its cover, but I guarantee that we all have done so at least once! Cover Crush is designed to feature some of those covers that have caught the eye as a standout on the bookshelf.

This cover caught my attention as I was perusing the Netgalley lists.  I love the contrasts of the blue tones of the sky, water, and the woman's clothing and the black/greys of the shadows.  There is a feeling of sadness that I perceive from the cover.  I like that I can tell just from looking at the cover where the book is set without it beating you over the head.  Serenely beautiful.

What do you think of this cover?

Check out the covers my friends are crushing on this week: Holly at 2 Kids and Tired Books, Colleen guesting at IndieBrag, Magdalena at A Bookaholic Swede, and Erin at Flashlight Commentary.
