*UPDATE*

I have updated my review and giveaway policies page (now just titled Policies above). If you are entering a giveaway, please read and abide by the applicable policy.

I am no longer an Amazon Associate. I am currently working on updating my posts with links to various locations to buy books. One of the links I am including is to RJ Julia - this is my favorite local independent book store. You can shop their store online and have access to pretty much anything you are looking for. I do not have any affiliation with any of these sites - just looking to support my local indie book store.

Anyone looking for a new feed reader? My recommendation is Bloglovin'. I made the switch and love the layout, plus there is now an app for my phone. If you use Bloglovin' or have made the switch to another feed reader, please make sure you are following me on it so you miss none of the content here!

Georgette Heyer Turns 110 + giveaway

I know that many of us historical fiction fans love Georgette Heyer novels – be it her mysteries, romances, or historical novels. Many of us cut our HF teeth on her books (except I don’t fall into these categories because somehow I haven’t read any yet!). If Georgette Heyer were alive today she would be turning 110 this year! Quite the achievement. And to celebrate, her US publisher, Sourcebooks, is opening up some wonderful giveaways.

Here I have on offer for you a grab bag containing the following: 1 romance, 1 historical, and 1 mystery novel by the grande dame herself. The titles will be a random selection and will go to one winner of this giveaway. How does that sound?!

Some minor details: You must be a resident of the USA or Canada. The last date for entry is midnight on August 18th. Enter the rafflecopter below to enter – and share with us all either how you were first exposed to Heyer, your favorite Heyer moment, or if you haven’t read any of her novels, why you want to try them out! Good luck!

  3. My favorite Georgette Heyer story is that I had the pleasure of attending a Georgette Heyer Tea in Phoenix with guests such as Lauren Willig and Stephanie Barron discussing Heyer's works. My favorite GH novel, though, is Arabella. Thanks for the contest.

  4. I discovered Georgette Heyer through these great re-issues that Sourcebooks has been putting out recently. I read my first of her work last year, and I was hooked! Her style really reminds me of Jane Austen-- so classy. I haven't read any of her "modern" books yet, and I'm looking forward to it.

    Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

  5. I have never read Georgette Heyer! I'm a huge historical fiction fan and she's supposed to be the queen of historical fiction. So many of her books sound so good to me!

  6. I have two Heyer books on my TBR shelf, but haven't been able to get to them yet. All the reviews I have ever read have been good. I need to get with it and get to her books.
I had not heard of her until a new employee who was a big fan came to our library. She is near the top of my list of authors to try, but I haven't managed to yet.
Maybe we will both get to her soon.

There is no Rafflecopter showing in this post.

  7. I first read Frederica and it was back when there was no internet and I had never heard of Georgette Heyer but the story looked good. When I had read for some pages I realized that this was not a story like the ones I was used to and then I looked at the first pages that I has skipped and saw an intro from an author I liked about her love of Georgette Heyer's stories.

  13. I discovered Georgette Heyer through Sarah Rees Brennan, who wrote a short parody of Cotillion. After that, I was hooked! When I was stressed out during my final exams of high school several years ago, I powered through five or six Heyer novels in the span of a week-- surprisingly, they helped me to study because they were the perfect stress relief!
