Well this morning is quite depressing. I'm not going to see Philippa Gregory today after all because the massive snowstorm headed right toward me doesn't understand it needs to hold off until tomorrow so that I can go see her! Sadly, the event has been cancelled. Hopefully it will be rescheduled and I will still be able to go. I didn't really want to drive in the snow, but I did want to see my mom and go to the event. Oh well - hunkering down here for the potential 8-12 inches of October snow!

So disappointing! I was planning to go also....sigh!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn - I think it would have been an awesome event especially because she doesn't come around here too often. However I did secure a signed copy so it wasn't a total loss.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable -- snow?! So sorry the event had to be cancelled, but hopefully it will be rescheduled soon. (Down here, we're just so happy that we woke up to cool temps in the 60's!! Woohoo!)
ReplyDeleteAlso, looking forward to seeing what you think of The Bronze Horseman -- I felt like I was the only one who hadn't read the trilogy yet, but I had a hard time getting past the first few chapters. I've heard it takes a while to pick up and then - bam-- it's great!
I'm so sorry it was cancelled! Hopefully they will reschedule and you will still get to meet her. And hey, with that much snow, maybe you'll just get to curl up with a nice cup of hot chocolate and read for hours!
ReplyDeleteAww, I would be way disappointed too (I'm actually in the middle of the Cousins War series right now).
ReplyDeleteEw....snow. Bleurgh.
ReplyDeleteJoanne - I'm hoping it will be rescheduled at some point. As for the Bronze Horseman - I am about a third of the way through it and I am very much enjoying it. The first couple chapters are a little slow and I found (and still do sometimes) Tatiana to be very frustrating. But it gets better!
ReplyDeleteSiobian - I somehow did absolutely nothing during the snowstorm - but having today off I am going to get some reading done!
Carole Rae - I agree!
