Mailbox Monday #74

Amongst all of the drama in my life this week, I was able to make it to my mailbox a couple times (which I assure you is now a job and a half versus what it was before).  I received two lovely books this week - both for review.

Received from the publisher as part of the August TLC Book Tour I received Becoming Marie Antoinette by Juliet Grey.  The cover is just gorgeous!  I can't wait to read this one!

From Amazon Vine I received Stealing Rembrandts by Anthony M Amore.  This is a non fiction book about the art heists of Rembrandt paintings and sounded too cool.  Here is the blurb:
Art theft is one of the most profitable criminal enterprises in the world, exceeding $6 billion dollars in losses to galleries and art collectors annually. In Stealing Rembrandts, authors Anthony M. Amore and Tom Mashberg reveal the actors behind the major art heists of the Dutch Master in the last century. Through thefts around the world - from Stockholm to Boston, Worcester to Ohio - the authors track daring entries into, and escapes from, the world's most renowned museums, and robbers who coolly walk off with multi-million dollar paintings. Stealing Rembrandts is a dramatic and brilliant account that lets you peek into the alluring and little-known criminal art world.
What did you receive in your mailbox this week?

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at The Printed Page and is now on a monthly blog tour.  For the month of June it is being hosted by Bluestocking at The Bluestocking Guide.

  2. I second that thought on Stealing Rembrandts! I had read Crimes of Paris a few years ago which included museum theft..very intriguing! Looking forward to your thoughts on it.

  5. Meg & Marie - I have always loved watching heist movies/shows - so I thought that this might be a cool read.

Anne - I am in the same boat - I don't think I have read any Marie Antoinette books either.

Audra - I think the cover is gorgeous!
