Mailbox Monday #33

It's Monday again and you know what that means! It's time to find out what came in our mailboxes!

I had a pretty good turnout this week - although not all of them came in my mailbox (I bought some at Borders too!)

From PaperBackSwap I received the final missing book in the Josephine series - Tales of Passion, Tales of Woe by Sandra Gulland.

From a giveaway that I won at The Burton Review I received my much anticipated 31 Bond Street by Ellen Horan.

Finally from Borders I bought The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman because I have just heard so many great things about this book. I also broke down and bought The Botticelli Secret by Marina Fiorato (which was originally supposed to be the March event for HFBRT - but I guess the publicist fell off the face of the Earth).

Hope you all received some great books too!

  1. Nice haul Heather! I can't believe you haven't read Sunne in Splendour yet! GASP!!! That's like sacrilegious in the world of historical fiction ;-) Teasing!!!

I can't wait to see what you think of it though!

And I am uber jealous over 31 Bond Street...I want that one so bad!

    Enjoy your new additions.

Sadly my mailbox was empty this week...cross your fingers that I get some lovin' this week ;-)

  2. These look like wonderful books -- hope you enjoy The Sunne in Splendour. I'm so excited to be going to an event in June where I will get to see (and hopefully meet?) Sharon Kay Penman!

  3. LOL to your "guess the publicist fell off the face of the earth..."

Jealous of 31 Bond Street, and also jealous that you will be reading the Josephine series for the first time. Seriously my favorite dive into historical fiction EVER. It's what first weaned me off of the Tudors and got me to realize that there is other amazing (a lot of the time better) historical fiction out there! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Josephine trilogy and I can't say it enough! I even gave the trilogy to my step-mom for Christmas. Enjoy it, I know you will :)

  4. Joanne- that is so cool. What are you going to?

Allie - I can't wait to get into it myself - though I'm starting to doubt that I have them all now. All my books are packed and at the apartment so I can't check, but I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that I got the 2nd book twice and didn't get the first book. I will have to find out this weekend when I bring up more stuff!

  5. Dolleygurl -- I am going to an event at the Arizona Biltmore Resort which is sponsored by The Poisoned Pen Bookstore. Many of my favorite authors will be there for readings, book signings, and to cap it all off, there will be a celebration of the works of Georgette Heyer with a special Regency Tea! Diana Gabaldon of the Outlander series, Sharon Kay Penman, and Lauren Willig (Pink Carnation series) are just a few of the featured authors. I can't wait! (I have a post about this on my blog if you'd like to read it.) It sounds like a fun opportunity.
