Modernized Historical Figures

You may have already seen this as it has been floating around Facebook for the last week or so, but The Telegraph had this interesting feature where they took 5 historical figures (Lord Nelson, Shakespeare, Henry VIII, Marie Antoinette, and Elizabeth I) and brought them into the modern times.  It is actually pretty cool.  I really like what they did with Lord Nelson the most I think.  So check it out and stop back and let me know what you think and/or who was your favorite!

  3. To be honest, I don't agree with these photos of how they would look modern day. Marie Antoinette is a strawberry blonde. Elizabeth I would likely have long hair, and be fashionable. They don't give these historical figures justice. I still like to think the modern day Henry VIII looks Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Marie Antoinette would resemble Kristen Dunst.

    1. I would like to think that Henry and Marie would look like that too - but unfortunately I don't think that would be so. I don't know that Elizabeth I would have long hair - maybe not as short as the image portrays but I can't imagine it would be long. The trend these days tends to be toward shoulder length or shorter. I think they were going on the trend of "power women" having shorter hair. I think that Marie Antoinette would have been like any other twenty something celebrity of the moment and had some element of work done. My favorite was Lord Nelson. Replacing his missing limb with a prosthetic, bringing the uniform up to the present. However with all of them I think that they had some good rationales for the updates they made.
