Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at The Printed Page but has since went out on a monthly blog tour. For the month of April it will be hosted by Amy at Passages to the Past.
This week I received two books in my mailbox.
From PaperBackSwap I received The Russian Concubine by Kate Furnivall. I have been wanting to get to some of her books for awhile now and there is no longer an excuse.
The other book was something I bought off of Ebay and will be a huge factor in an upcoming event toward the end of April - The Circus Fire by Stewart O'Nan. I listened to this non-fiction on audio a couple of weeks ago and loved it and knew that I needed to get the book because there were lots of pictures in there (which you just don't get on a cd). Beyond that, as this is going to be the focal point of my event, I wanted to have the physical book to refer back to. Get excited for Circus Disaster Week!
Did anything exciting arrive in your mailbox this week?

Circus. Disaster. Week.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait!!!
Audra - I'm super excited about it too! It seems that I have had a thing for disasters lately - Triangle Fire, Titanic, Circus - I don't know if that should be telling me something! lol.
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing The Russian Concubine was good so I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to be including the story of Mary the elephant who was hung in TN?
ReplyDeleteLibrarypat - I actually hadn't heard about that one, and I don't think it was mentioned in the book. I will have to go research it - thanks!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading your thoughts on Russian Concubine. I received 3 books.
